To design well, you need to match the context in which you contribute to the context in which you consume.

Fundamentally, privacy is about having control over how information flows. It's about being able to understand the social setting in order to behave appropriately…. When they feel as though control has been taken away from them or when they lack the control they need to do the right thing, they scream privacy foul.
It's not about the size of your conference, but how you use it.
When you can take an idea and put it out there and have people connect with it, respond to it or interact with it, and make it better, I think that's sort of the magic of the collective conscience of what we call the internets.
